Brian Yates
Brian is the Vice President, Regional Leader British Columbia at Stantec. Brian has spent his career leading large-scale environmental assessments and consultation efforts for a range of energy, ports, mining, and linear infrastructure clients. His passion is building great teams and helping them grow and succeed.
Originally from Nova Scotia, Brian has lived in Indonesia and Singapore before settling in Vancouver—this allowed him to develop a deep appreciation for diversity in teams, clients, and projects. He’s led numerous environmental assessments under the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act, BC Environmental Assessment Act and implemented associated permitting and environmental management plans across Canada and Asia.
Brian also serves on the Board of the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies British Columbia. He’s active in the community with Scouts Canada, Little League, and the parent advisory group for his kids’ school.
